The family behind it

We eat our own harvest, every day.

Welcome to Seaside Mushrooms, where a passion for mycology meets the restorative salt air of Flagler Beach, Florida. We are a small-batch, family-run farm founded on a simple belief: the best mushrooms are grown with love, harvested by hand, and shared with the community.

We are not just growers — we are mushroom enthusiasts, constantly amazed by these fungi. As a small, hands-on team, you will usually find us in the grow room or at the local farmers’ market.

Meet the team

Two people, one obsession with doing it right.

Morrigan McDonald

Morrigan McDonald

Resident Grower · Author

Morrigan keeps the grow room humming and the harvests on schedule — the steady hands that turn cultures into clusters. She is the reason the day-to-day runs, and the anchor that keeps the whole operation grounded. Her first novel, Survival Is Buoyancy — Book One of The Great Thaw — is out now under the name Morrigan B. McDonald.

Scott McDonald

Scott McDonald

Resident Mycologist

Scott is the science behind our spores. He nerds out on the biology — ensuring every culture is vigorous, every strain is potent, and every harvest is the highest quality possible. Twenty years as a security architect before this, and he still writes down everything he learns.

Everything we do

One farm, three things growing.

The mushrooms came first. The books, the software and the failover work all grew out of running the farm — and every one of them borrows its vocabulary from the grow room.
